Vivid and lifelike

After much effort, I finally managed to get a ticket for the classic play “Teahouse”, which is being re-staged by the Beijing People’s Art Theatre this time. I have been competing for tickets for several years. Especially this time, the star-studded cast is definitely worth the ticket price. Seeing the wonderful performances of the actors and teachers such as Liang Guanhua, Pu Cunxin, Yang Lixin, Feng Yuanzheng, Wu Gang and Gong Lijun, they were so vivid and lifelike that they were penetrating to the core.

Teahouse consists of only three acts, each depicting different social backgrounds and human relations in three distinct time periods. Through a variety of vivid and lively depictions of characters’ fates, it reflects the survival strategies of the broad masses of the people in the turbulent old society and their miserable lives.
The classic status of “Teahouse” is beyond doubt. It is a work that reflects the changes of The Times, a work that reflects the various aspects of life, and more importantly, a work that takes us back to that era to experience and understand. “Capital Theatre”
